According to Paul Krugman, buoyant commodity prices are, in the short term, about the global “recovery”, and in the long term about dwindling resources. Either way, the Federal Reserve, and its extreme loose money policy that Krugman has been foremost in advocating, is exculpated. It can’t be the Fed, because the commodity price boom is global, not domestic. And, of course we don’t export inflation!
